CEREC same-day dentistry relies on state-of-the-art CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing) technology. When you receive same-day dentistry, this technology enables our dentists to create your crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, or other restorations in a matter of minutes.
When you visit our office, we will:
- Examine your teeth to determine the most appropriate restoration
- Develop a treatment plan
- Remove any decayed or weakened tooth tissue
- Take a digital picture of your mouth
- Convert this digital picture into a 3D model on the computer screen using CAD/CAM software
- Create a restoration based on your 3D model
- Mill your restoration from a block of tooth-colored material
Within a few minutes, your CEREC restoration will be complete! Our skilled dentists will then check the restoration to ensure that it fits properly and bond it in place. The restoration will then be polished to complete your treatment, and you can leave our office with a smile!
